Community/Outreach Description

Maryland is home to the Triumph of the Cross Community (TCC), a small, but vibrant community located in Frederick, Maryland-about one hour from Baltimore and Washington D.C. respectively. TCC is in the process of building it's youth program from the ground up and as a Gapper, you can be a part of it's growth!

Gappers will be fully involved in TCC life, including the formation program, prayer meetings, Lord's Day celebration, and a pastoral care for their spiritual growth. In addition, Gappers in Maryland will travel to Michigan to connect with the other interns.

Each Gapper's assignment will be made based on his or her interests and abilities, as well as our needs. The following is a list of possible responsibilities.

Triumph of the Cross Service:
- 20 Hours of Paid Work may be included to help support your GAP fees
- Work with TCC High-school Youth, serving at Saturday youth groups, small group leaders, and one-on-one care.
- Assist and support TCC as we begin to develop a College Program (UCO)
- Practical service for the youth (shopping) and adults (babysitting)
- Setting up fundraising plans for TCC youth (every other month)
- Organize TCC-wide events, e.g.,2010 Autumn TCC Annual Anniversary Party and 2011 Valentines TCC Dinner/Dance (Fundraiser for Youth)
- Set up/run Elementary and/or Middle School Youth Program

Person Description

- You are at least 20 years old.
- You have a heart for reaching out to people.
- You have been a member of a Kairos outreach for at least 2 years.
- Experience in youth work or campus evangelism is a plus.
- You are open to receiving training and supervision.
